Bécassine is a famous comic strip character that originated in western France, created by the author Jacqueline Rivière and illustrator Emile Pinchon in 1905.
Bécassine was a treasured part of all my primary classes for over thirty years. I just couldn’t imagine my life without Bécassine. Created at about the same time as our house was built in 1903, it just seemed natural that her character should have a dedicated room.
The Bécassine room is in the barn in front the house.
